Karkalla featured in Country Style

Fiona Brockhoff and David Swann’s own garden, Karkalla in Sorrento, will be featured in the Jan 2013 issue of Country Style. Issue goes on sale after Christmas.

Open Gardens

Fiona Brockhoff and David Swann’s own garden, Karkalla, and two other Mornington Peninsula gardens designed in conjunction with Fiona will be open 5-6 Jan 2013 as part of Open Gardens Australia. Gardens are open from 10am to 4.30pm

Karkalla

Designer Fiona Brockhoff’s exceptional modern garden in coastal bushland displays great flair and an imaginative use of seaside plants. Successful combination of indigenous species and tough exotics including succulents and flax.

Offshore

Sheltering behind sand dunes is a superb naturalistic landscape combining local indigenous and other native plants.

Contemporary coastal garden complementing striking modern house. Structural elements are softened by clipped native shrubs, grasses and succulents.

Garden Designfest

21 Wilks Avenue, Malvern will be open on 17-18 Nov 2012 as part of the Garden Designfest. You will have the opportunity to meet Fiona over the two days.

Furniture

Backbeach bench

Built from Cypress Pine (Callitris sp.) this bench is designed to suit many applications and settings. Sturdy and simple to look at, the timber is long lasting – durability class 1 timber. With time it develops a silvery grey patina unless it is regularly oiled.

Spun copper pot. 1950’s inspired conical shape.These pots are spun from copper and aged naturally in the sea air to achieve a verdigris finish unique to each pot.
